Hearing Aid
Words, whether forming poetry or prose, but honestly telling the story. I’m looking for the right words. But while i’m looking, i’ll jot some of them down here. It’ll be my hearing aid.
Remember that bit in Bruce Almighty when Bruce takes over God’s job, thinking he can do it a little better? He decides to put the World’s prayers into email, so that they would appear in an inbox.
Only, so many people pray; even those little ones like, “Pleeease, please can i just get through this day!” that soon his inbox is unmanageable.
A good friend once said; “God is so huge! So powerful! Shouldn’t we be praying for more than just parking spaces?!”
The bible says to “Pray continually” (1 Thessalonians 5:17) and, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” (Philippians 4:6)
With life being a bit crap recently, i’m a bit scared that God’s not actually hearing me. So,…a chance to listen hard. A chance to look back and notice. And, maybe write some good poetry along the way.
